Golf Team Defeats Farmingdale in Dual Meet

Elmsford, N.Y. - The men's golf team concluded the 2013-2014 season in winning fashion with a 312-308 victory over Farmingdale State College at the Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford.

The golf course was one which the team had never seen nor played before.  The holes were very challenging with difficult greens on which to putt.

"This victory bodes well for the future of this team and signifies the accomplishments of a very talented and hard working group of young players," said head coach George Cangero.  "This team has persevered to improve upon their games and grow the program into one of the more competitive Division III programs in the Skyline Conference.  The future is looking really promising for the Golden Eagles golf team."

Zac Campanelli was the team's low scorer once again (76), while four others posted scores in the 70's as well.  Campanelli was the team's most improved player as well as its most consistent player and is recognized by all team members as their MVP.  

Number one player Christian Bleck and team captain Sean Sanders each posted very good scores of 77.  Robert Bray (79) & John Melandro (78) also shot sub-eighty rounds.  Freshman Trevor McGuire posted an 87.  This was the first time that five of six players posted sub-eighty scores in competition.
