The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team took home a 3-1 season-opening win against Brooklyn College on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles used their best hitting percentage of the day to propel them to a 25-14 win in the opening frame

A tightly played second set went in favor of the Bulldogs, 25-23, to even the match at one win apiece

SJLI had a strong push in the later half of the third set to claim a 25-12 win and regain a 2-1 match lead

Trailing 8-7, a block from freshman Nina Vanderhoof sparked a 5-0 run giving the Golden Eagles a 12-8 advantage. Brooklyn caught up at 13 and neither side would lead by for than three down the stretch until back-to-back aces by Wolf secured the 25-21 win
