How it happened
-
As the first half was a back-and-forth battle it looked as if the Golden Eagles would strike first as in the last 15 minutes SJLI would see three different scoring opportunities that were all turned away by the Dolphins goalkeeper to keep the game tied at zero
-
Just three minutes into the second half a long throw-in for CMSV found the head of Johnson to be played back into the box where Betancourt was able to get a right foot on it to blast into the top left corner of the goal to take the 1-0 lead
-
The 57th minute saw SJLI's next opportunity to tie the game at one apiece where Martinez-Hernandez found space for an opportunity but the chance was saved by the keeper to keep Mt. St. Vincent ahead by one and secure the victory
